Noteworthy Sheet Music

Acclaimed composer Tom Schnauber recently contributed two of his works to NSM’s catalog.  Check out his superb piece Those Infernal Exsanguinators for flute and piano, listen to audio and view a page of the score.

Thanks to the Marigny Opera Dance Company for commissioning this next project. Following the 2019 performance of Aguas de Decembre with Brazilian choreographer Diogo de Lima comes a reimaging of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker set in New Orleans combining 21st century jazz modalities with the rhythms of New Orleans

Freeman is a 2021 LMCC Creative Engagement grantee for "Hell's Kitchen Soul Sauce": a concert series highlighting Latin music in Hell's Kitchen, celebrating Freeman's 40 years living in Manhattan, and in tribute to the late legendary percussionist Ray Mantilla. Performances coming this summer-fall.

In the Summer 2021, I'm entering into a project with PARMA Recordings to record an album of art songs called TREES & OTHER POEMS: AN ANTHOLOGY OF ART SONGS. Performing the songs will be mezzo-soprano Megan Ihnen, pianists Anthony de Mare and Craig Ketter; also Esther Noh, violin; Artie Dibble, viola, Dave Eggar, cello.

Boulanger Initiative

Boulanger Initiative will hold its third annual festival “WoCo Fest 2021: Revelry - Co-Presented by Strathmore” June 3 - 6, 2021. The festival events will take place at Strathmore in Bethesda, Md., the Washington National Cathedral, as well as streamed live online.


Artists contracted for the 21-22 season include Jerusalem Quartet, Fauré Piano Quartet, Boston Camerata, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Junction Trio, Black Oak Ensemble with flutist Eugenia Molinare, St. Lawrence Quartet, and the ATOS Trio.
