Freeman is a 2021 LMCC Creative Engagement grantee for "Hell's Kitchen Soul Sauce": a concert series highlighting Latin music in Hell's Kitchen, celebrating Freeman's 40 years living in Manhattan, and in tribute to the late legendary percussionist Ray Mantilla. Performances coming this summer-fall.

In the Summer 2021, I'm entering into a project with PARMA Recordings to record an album of art songs called TREES & OTHER POEMS: AN ANTHOLOGY OF ART SONGS. Performing the songs will be mezzo-soprano Megan Ihnen, pianists Anthony de Mare and Craig Ketter; also Esther Noh, violin; Artie Dibble, viola, Dave Eggar, cello.

Boulanger Initiative

Boulanger Initiative will hold its third annual festival “WoCo Fest 2021: Revelry - Co-Presented by Strathmore” June 3 - 6, 2021. The festival events will take place at Strathmore in Bethesda, Md., the Washington National Cathedral, as well as streamed live online.


Artists contracted for the 21-22 season include Jerusalem Quartet, Fauré Piano Quartet, Boston Camerata, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Junction Trio, Black Oak Ensemble with flutist Eugenia Molinare, St. Lawrence Quartet, and the ATOS Trio.

I have just completed my first opera entitled The Bird Lady, a chamber opera with three main characters, a chorus of four, and a chamber orchestra of ten. The libretto is by Germaine Shames, a highly recognized and awarded writer of novels and plays. Looking for opportunities to workshop and/or produce the opera.

Duo Sequenza

Coming in late 2021! Our next Navona Records release "Yes...It's STILL a Thing!" is comprised of the Premiere Recordings of works by Andrea Clearfield, Nicole Chamberlain, Frederic Hand, Kent Holliday, Katherine Hoover, Deirdre Lynds, Gary Schocker, and Harvey Sollberger. 


The 2021 Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival will be held June 13-20 under a tent at Temple Beth El. Each concert will last one hour, without intermission, and be performed twice. Artists will include Artistic Director Paul Watkins, Alessio Bax, Christine Goerke, Tessa Lark, Soyeon Kate Lee, Nicholas Phan, Philp Setzer and Tien-Hsin Cindy Wu.


The eorld premiere of "Certain Dragons" by Martha Sullivan was originally scheduled for March 28th,  2019 but was postponed due to Covid. Plans are underway to present the new-commissioned work in the fall of 2021or in 2022 depending on when live performances can resume.
