The remarkable synergy of three outstanding musicians, each bringing to the stage his own point of view and expertise. With a vast array of flutes of all kinds and sizes - a veritable pan-pipe or Syrinx - a new approach to music and programming - thinking forward to the 22nd Century is forged: unrestrained, creative, collaborative, and always at the highest artistic level. With recorder player António Carrilho bringing a specialization in the baroque and pre-baroque as well as the avant-garde, flutist Katharine Rawdon, whose repertoire centers on the modern, but reaches back through the 19th Century to the baroque, and New York pianist Raj Bhimani, bringing a sensitivity for the Romantic and French repertoire, the stage is set.

On October 30, 2019 Syrinx : XXII played on the Live from Hochstein series in Rochester, NY.  The concert was broadcast on WXXI and can be heard here:

The highlight of the 2018-2019 season for Syrinx : XXII was an extended tour of India.  The trio returned to cities that hosted them two years earlier and also added a concert at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Bombay, the premier arts venue in the country.  The program included a commission by Soeren Sieg.

Syrinx : XXII completed two concert tours in recent months, one of India and another of the East Coast of the United States.  During these tours the trio presented their signature mix of music from five different centuries which included a new work written especially for them by noted Portuguese composer Carlos Marecos.
