Each season, Red Cedar brings nearly 100 intimate, enlightening, and entertaining performances to audiences in Eastern Iowa. Guest artists join the core ensemble (Miera Kim, violin & Carey Bostian, cello) in three concert programs each season. The MainStage Concert Series consists of formal concerts in multiple cities, and Community Connections brings chamber music into the nooks and crannies of everyday life – reaching kids, seniors, and families where they normally congregate. Their Rural Outreach Program enriches small communities with live chamber music, and has been funded by the National Endowment for the Arts for 14 years. Red Cedar is known for premiering new works, having commissioned more than 50 works since 1997.
