Description

A concert honoring Philip Glass on his 83rd birthday features the Syracuse premiere of his "Madeira River," 1999, along with Steve Reich's "Music for Mallet Instruments, voices & organ," 1973 at 80+ & their disciples Marc Mellits (SNM commissioned composer) "Gravity," 2013 & Olivia Kieffer's "Play the Robot," 2019 (NYS premiere).  Ms. Kieffer is a doctoral student at the Univ. of Miami, but has studied with Mellits in Chicago where he teaches at the U. of Illinois-Chicago campus.
