Description

The Hawaiian Oboe Legacy Project commissioned a world premiere by composer Jon Magnussen to spotlight the debut of the world’s only handcrafted oboe made of Hawaiian kauila wood. Created as a gift to Hawaii, and envisioned and performed by J. Scott Janusch with Chamber Music Hawaii's Tresemble, the program honors Hawaiian culture and its environment, past, present, and future. The evening’s repertoire will also include W.A. Mozart’s Oboe Quartet in F Major, K. 370/368b.
