Description

The American Wild Ensemble premieres new works by Hawaii-based composers Takuma Itoh, Michael-Thomas Foumai, and Byron Yasui, plus an additional new piece by Tonia Ko. Itoh's new work, Adaptation Variations, has been made possible by the Chamber Music America Classical Commissioning Program, with generous funding provided by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

Each of the pieces on the program is inspired by Hawaiian wildlife, geography, or traditions. This free concert kicks off a 10-day tour of Hawaii, with performances and education events on Oahu and the Big Island.
