CMA at 35: Pass It On! Celebrating the Past and Embracing the Future, Chamber Music America’s 35th Anniversary Conference, celebrated the continued success of Chamber Music America with a survey of the ever-changing landscape faced by today’s small ensemble professionals. Kicked off with a keynote speech by the remarkably innovative composer, inventor, and educator Tod Machover, the conference explored the myriad intersections between new media, technology, and the performance—and business—of chamber music. Concerts, including a stirring tribute to the legendary American Brass Quintet, complemented panels and workshops designed to help small ensemble professionals connect to new audiences and to each other. Preparation for next year’s conference, to be held January 16-19, 2014 at the Westin New York at Times Square, is already well-underway. Mark your calendars now!
