Quintet of the Americas is thrilled to be a recipient of this year's CMA Residency Grant. The Quintet will be in residence in the Rockaways in Queens, NY. Collaborators include Rockaway Artists Alliance, Rockaway Waterfront Alliance, Beacon Rehab Center, P.S. 114 Belle Harbor School and the West End Temple.
We are honored to have received a generous grant from CMA to commission a new work from composer William Bolcom, which we premiered in San Francisco in December, 2014 and have performed two more times since then. Another performance will take place on November 7, 2015 in Berkeley, CA.
ICP's season opener in NYC receives rave review in The New York Times.
The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra will give the world premiere of Venezuela Unida, a new work by pianist/composer Edward Simon, as well as selected movements from his CMA commissioned Venezuelan Suite. The performances will take place at Symphony Space on October 1st and 2nd at 8pm.

The Ben Kono Group recently recorded it's 2013 Chamber Music America New Jazz Works Commission "Don't Blink" with Ben Kono, Pete McCann, Henry Hey, Kermit Driscoll, and Satoshi Takeishi. The band will play the work in it's entirety August 13th 7:30pm at the Hopper House Music in the Garden Series in Nyack, NY.
