The Reif Center is a proud recipient of a CMA Residency Partnership Grant for the 2015-2016 performance season. Our venue will be working with the Artaria String Quartet of Minneapolis, MN during two in-house residencies.

So Percussion

So Percussion is excited to have received a 2015 CMA Classical Commissioning grant to commission Paul Lansky!  The piece will be written for mostly unpitched percussion, having been inspired by Paul's electronic masterpiece "Table's Clear", which featured sounds he recorded at his kitchen table with his children.


We are honored and excited to be recipents of CMA's 2015 Classical Commissiong Grant! Composer Alex Mincek will be writing a substansial new piece for our piano percussion quartet instrumentation to be premiered as part of Miller Theatre's "Composer Portraits" Series on February 25th, 2016. We could not be more thrilled!


Beijing Guitar Duo Receives 2015 Chamber Music of America Classical Commissioning Grant!!

The Beijing Guitar Duo is one of the recipients of the 2015 CMA Classical Commissioning Grant. The duo will premiere a new piece by renowned composer Chen Yi in 2016-17 season.


Ekmeles received a rave review from the New York Times for our 2014-2015 season closer: 

"With exquisite clarity of diction, the members of Ekmeles lingered over key consonants, which, bonelike, appeared to resist decomposition long after the rest of a syllable had decayed into silence."

wild rumpus

Wild Rumpus is honored to be among the 2015 CMA Classical Commissioning grantees. The grant was awarded to commission composer Dan VanHassel to write a song cycle for Wild Rumpus with text by Bay Area songwriter Jesse Rimler.

Artaria String Quartet

Artaria is delighted to receive a CMA Residency Partnership grant for 2015-16 with the Reif Arts Council serving the Itasca Strings Program, Grand Rapids Area Library, Elkington Middle School, Pleasant Seasons Nursing Home, Forest Lake and Murphy Elementary, Veteran of Foreign Wars Club, KAXE Radio, Grand Itasca Clinic, and the WMCA.<


Western Michigan University and the WJQ will partner with the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival and deliver lecture/demonstrations to schools in a 50-mile radius of Kalamazoo.

Master Players Concert Series

6ixwire Project, MPCS' Ensemble-in-Residence, proudly announces the receipt of a prestigious CMA grant for 2015-16 season. 6ixwire will present educational multimedia presentations in various locations in the region to promote chamber music and cultural understanding.
