6ixwire Project, MPCS' Ensemble-in-Residence, proudly announces the receipt of a prestigious CMA grant for 2015-16 season. 6ixwire will present educational multimedia presentations in various locations in the region to promote chamber music and cultural understanding. Fauré’s “Vocalise-Étude (Pièce)” is a lovely and poignant piece of music, not merely a vocal exercise but a musical work of considerable beauty.  A new transcription for alto flute and piano is available from NSM.

Thank you CMA for this wonderful Residency opportunity for 'Farmers by Nature' (Gerald Cleaver, William Parker, Craig Taborn) at Campos Plaza Community Center from September 2015 through June 2016

TIQ is the recipient of a CMA Classical Commissioning grant for a work by founding violinist David Balakrishnan.  Mark Summer, founding cellist and 30-year member of TIQ, will leave the ensemble in December 2015.  The premiere is slated for Spring 2015 with the new cellist, Malcolm Parson.


We are thrilled to announce our debut CD will be distributed under the Naxos music label in early 2016!


PRISM is honored to receive a CMA Residency Partnership Grant to present 28 outreach programs in SE Michigan in 2015-16. Community partners include Progression, Inc., John R. King Performing Arts Academy, Cass Technical High School, Grand River Academy, McBride Middle School, and Ellington Conservatory of Music and Arts at Beckham Academy.


Quad City Arts will partner with WindSync for a one-week residency November 9-14, 2015, providing in-depth and often repeated contact between the artist and audience. They will give 45-minute educational performance in three schools or community sites each day. A CMA Residency Partnership grant made this possible.
