Boulder, CO:Rocky Ridge Music Center unveils plans to open a year-long Rocky Ridge Music Academy in North Boulder (NoBo) in January 2016. The Music Academy will be the community arm of the renowned 73-year-old Center’s summer residential music program and festival, serving students of all ages and levels.


Vashon Chamber Music presents the Vashon Beethoven Quartet Project. The Girsky Quartet performs the quartets in chronological order and lecture-recital format, with complimentary repertoire. Next concert is Jan 10, 2016 at 7:30pm at the Vashon Havurah Building, Vashon Island WA. Tickets at the door or


Recently completed "The Persistence of Memory," a modern Concerto Grosso for Solo Piano, Bassoon, Tuba, and Symphony Orchestra, inspired by the Salvador Dali work of the same name.  Commissioned by Steinway Artist Karen Hutchinson for performance by The Aurio Trio.

Allegria Ensemble

The PA Council on the Arts awarded funding to our trio of oboe, violin, and cello for a series of school concerts in St. Mary's, PA scheduled for May 2016 to coordinate with National Chamber Music Month of CMA.

Noteworthy Sheet Music

P.H.Bloom’s new composition, From the Drawer for Tenor or Soprano, with Flute (doubling Piccolo), Clarinet, Bassoon, and Horn, is an emotional musical setting for the powerful and poignant text of the 1923 poem by Cavafy.  Sheet music available from NSM.

Our CMA-funded commission of Alex Mincek is shaping up nicely so far. We've hosted Alex for several studio visits to work on sounds and timbres and the sketches are shaping up nicely. Exciting!!


New Morse Code will premiere The Language of Landscapes by Christopher Stark, supported by a 2014 CMA Classical Commissioning Grant, at Washington Univ. in St. Louis on Nov. 2, 2015.
