Fifth House Ensemble is delighted to be a recipient of a 2014 Chamber Music America Classical Commissioning Grant, which supports a new work for flute, cello, and piano by Dan Visconti titled Soundings

Noteworthy Sheet Music

“The Piano in Spain” by Ana Benavides. This beautiful book covers the history of the piano in Spain from its introduction to the time of Joaquín Turina. It contains a wealth of information, color images, & music examples. Available in the US from NSM.


For the 2014/2015 Season, CMA awarded the Mana Quartet a Commissioning Grant for a new work by the Swedish composer Mika Pelo. The new piece, recently finished, will be premiered at SaxOpen in Strasbourg, France on July 10!

The 2016 spring season sees the premiere of two commissioned chamber music works:

A piece for trombone and harp commissioned by the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council for the Branderson Duo. Premiere in February.

A woodwind quintet commissioned by East Winds. Premiere on March 6.

New Yor-Uba had numerous performances  in March-May of 2015, including  concerts at The Kennedy Center, Dizzy's Jazz at Lincoln Center and The Egg Performing Arts Center in Albany. Dates to come  l nclude the American Jazz Museum in Kansas City, Dizzy's and more.
