Born in Newark, New Jersey, Steve has lived and performed in NYC his entire adult life. He has toured and recorded with diverse musical personalities, from Lionel Hampton and Buddy Rich to Anthony Braxton and and Jemeel Moondoc. Thirty recordings as a leader; featured artist on 90 more. Nominations: Trombonist of the Year (JJA: 2008, 2011); DownBeat Critics Poll (2010, 2011, 2012). Trombonist of the Year: Argentina's El Intruso magazine (2008, 2009, 2010). Jubilation Foundation Fellowship (2008), USArtists International grant (2006), MCAF Award (2008). Steve conducts masterclasses all over the world and is a teacher in NYC public schools working with special-ed kids.
