For 17 years, guitarist and composer Gilmore has recorded and performed with some of modern music's most influential and innovative artists, including Wayne Shorter, Muhal Richard Abrams, Steve Coleman, Don Byron, Uri Caine, and Dave Douglas. He hasappeared on more than 50 recordings and been a major presence on the international touring scene. The David Gilmore Group, performing since 1999, released its first recording, "Ritualism" (Kashka Records), in 2001, which was nominated Debut CD of theyear by the Jazz Journalists Association, followed by "Unified Presence" (RKM Records), featuring Christian McBride, Jeff "Tain" Watts, and Ravi Coltrane.
