Diane Moser is a recipient of Chamber Music America’s 2003-2004 “New Works: Creation and Presentation" for her composition “Music for The Last Flower",a 50 minute suite inspired by the James Thurber book "The Last Flower". The work is in 6 movements and spans from free improvisation-to structured improvisation in many musical styles (Contemporary/Jazz/Latin). In 2011 she received a grant from New Music USA to record "Music for the Last Flower", which was released Jan 2014, on the Planet Arts record label. "This music is powerful, uncompromising, and brilliantly conceived. Squalls of intensity brush into moments of extreme lyric grace and it even swings when it should." Robert Bush, All About Jazz.
