Description

Music by NYC composer Carman Moore, libretto is by OyamO (aka Charles Gordon), a professor of theater and writing at the U. of Michigan.  Victoria King is the director, Cheryl Wilkings-Mitchell the choreographer,  artist David Harper designed the set, Darlene Vinyard the costumes, and Duane Womack the lighting. This opera is steeped with magic realism and ‘N’Orleans-style’ swing and jazz. The lesson young Charles learns is that being good isn’t always easy, but is rewarded in the end.  Ice cream follows the performance.

The role of Charles is sung by Tyler Eighmey, the sorcerer Miss Marguerite  by Danan Tsan, and Big John King by Michael Chellis
