Messiah Sing-Along
Ticket Information
Free Event. Participants are encouraged to bring their own Messiah scores, or rent them for $5 at the event.
Credo Chamber Music, in collaboration with Oberlin Conservatory of Music and the Oberlin College Office of Religious and Spiritual Life, invite members of the community to Finney Chapel in Oberlin for the annual sing-along of Handel’s Messiah. This event—free and open to the public—is a wonderful opportunity for families to celebrate the holiday season and participate in a long-standing Oberlin tradition. A freewill offering will be taken to benefit Family Promise of Lorain County.
In tough economic times, the Messiah Sing-Along is a great way to come together as a community, celebrate what we have, and lend a hand to those who need it most. Family Promise addresses the needs of homeless families by providing shelter, meals, and support services. This organization provides invaluable work to the greater community.
The performance, conducted by Oberlin Conservatory String Division Director Peter Slowik and featuring prize-winning vocal soloists from Oberlin Conservatory and a chamber orchestra, begins at 7:00pm. All are invited to attend and participate or just listen. For questions and more information, contact the Credo office at 440.774.3658.
Unlike many Messiah Sing-Alongs, the program will cover all three sections of Handel's Messiah and include all the beloved choruses. The program should last about 1.5 hours.
