SOLI Chamber Ensemble, San Antonio’s award winning contemporary ensemble, concludes its monumental 20th Anniversary Season, with its final program entitledFUTURE. The program will explore works by some of the hottest emerging composers of the coming age.
SOLI launches on a trajectory towards the FUTURE. Celebrating its 20th Anniversary this season SOLI is eagerly looking forward to the exciting new possibilities at its new home, The TOBIN Center for the Artsbut also continues its mission to explore the ever-changing landscape of the music of our time and our future. Therefore SOLI Is thrilled to introduce our San Antonio audiences to these young, highly sought after American talents and their music as they stand on the brink of huge careers: Caroline Shaw -- the youngest composer to receive the Pulitzer Prize, composer-conductor Scott Ordway, San Antonio's own and nationally known young talents Niccolo Athens and Yvonne Freckmann, and an all around renaissance man Matthew Aucoin. Each of our concerts this season featured World Premieres and our FUTURE program is no exception. SOLI will give the World Premiere of a new work by Aucoin based on Paul Celan’s beautiful poetry and will feature SOLI's favorite dynamic mezzo-soprano, Tynan Davis.
