Our Third Annual concert at the Tenri Cultural Institute featuring the Premieres of works by Dag Gabrielsen and Peter Köszeghy.
Soprano, Helen Gabrielsen will be joining us for the premiere performance of Food, an American Expressionist suite on early 1960s domesticity by Dag Gabrielsen, with texts from Gertrude Stein’s Tender Buttons.
We’ll also be performing the New York premiere of Souls by Pèter Köszeghy. This is a gorgeous work with a unique sound environment created with various tone colors of layered notes and bending pitches, coupled with intricate rhythms. Composed for us in 2011, Souls is inspired by the Hungarian Shaman tradition, which focuses on the connection between the physical and spiritual worlds.
There will be a reception following the concert. Tickets are available at Brownpapertickets.com
