The Heavenly Brahms Piano Quartet Opus 26 is as close to symphonic scale as you get in chamber music. With its drama and gypsy vigor, it delivers an enthralling range of emotions. Beethoven’s Trio in B-Flat Major was intended to please the Viennese public, and to ensure its success, Beethoven incorporated a tune from a popular comic opera.
This will be followed by a performance of a justpenned piece built on the same theme with its own fresh variations. Paul Schoenfield (of Café Music fame), too, is part of a tradition of including improbable popular themes to sublime. Be part of a thrilling— and surprising—world premiere. An evening of enduring classics with a contemporary twist.
Renana Gutman, piano; Miriam Fried, violin; Paul Biss, viola; Yehuda Hanani, cello
